We need individuals and businesses from Eastbourne and the surrounding areas to help build our caring and supportive community - to forge a fair and equitable society that can continue to operate without restriction or discrimination. Join our cooperative and enjoy the benefits. We would love to offer free membership,  but as a registered business - we have administrative fees, website hosting fees, venue fees, resource fees, etc... that must be funded in order to run. We are run by hard-working volunteers and any profit the co-operative makes will go directly back to building more resources for our members.

Do make sure your read the ABOUT US section, which explains so much about what ECCo-op is doing.

Letter to UK school: Notice to withdraw child to Electively Home Educate (EHE) - correct at time of writing - please do check if anything has changed. If emailing the school, a copy of the letter should be signed, scanned and included as an attachment as many schools will not act without a parental signature.

Letter can be for a date in the future or with immediate effect.

No reason needs to be given.

Children with ECHP may need to check guidance on removal from schools.

Extract from schools guidance:

8 (1) (d) The parent(s) have elected to home-educate (EHE) Parents have a right to withdraw their child from a school in favour of home education. The child must not be removed from the school roll until the parent has given written notification of their decision to educate the child at home. Parents sometimes use this option when there are problems for their child at school. It would not be appropriate for school staff to encourage EHE as a solution to difficult issues as this is unlikely to be in the best interests of the child. The school - not the parent - has a legal duty to notify the Local Authority when deleting a child from roll under this criterion. Schools should do this via the EHE Notification Form (see Appendix 2).
